Careno Construction was the selected construction partner for the fast tracked summer renovations of two outdated lecture halls located in the Paul Creative Arts Center on the Durham Campus for the University of NH.
This project upgraded the existing halls and surrounding corridors to a fresh look with modern finishes. The scope of work also included new auditorium seating, fixed and loose furniture/ tables, newly constructed platforms and stages, flooring, ceilings, wall finishes, etc.
Both classrooms were stripped of existing chairs, stages, ceilings and walls. New automated HVAC systems were installed as well as complete electrical upgrades. A state of the art lighting management system that configures the new energy efficient lighting to multiple lighting scenarios at the push of a button or through computer access was one of the many highlights of this project. This system allows for the users to dim lighting and focus lighting on selected areas for performances and art exhibits among many other features.
Multiple motorized recessed projection screens, a beautiful stage curtain and an audio/visual package to rival high tech theaters provided the finishing touches to this project.
